Less Mess Supports Starbucks Canada and Volunteer Canada in their Global Month of Service

On Saturday, April 27th, Less Mess partnered with Starbucks Canada and Volunteer Canada to help support their volunteer initiatives at Toronto’s Harbour Front Community Centre. Located on the Queens Quay, Less Mess was on hand to assist in various tasks, including community garden planting and clean-up. Supplying our Premium Topsoil and Black Bark Mulch for the centre’s garden and landscape, Less Mess was honored and excited to be part of such a rewarding event and community effort.

The Sustainable Neighbourhood Retrofit Action Plan (SNAP)

The Sustainable Neighbourhood Retrofit Action Plan (SNAP) is an innovative program seeking to develop action plans to improve the local environment. Through neighbourhood initiatives and localizing green infrastructures, SNAP encourages positive behavior changes among community residents. Based on existing conditions of each neighborhood, each project sets neighborhood-level targets and identifies key actions on private and public property to address environmental objectives.

Led by Toronto and Region Conservation in collaboration with regional, municipal and community partners, SNAP also seeks partnership and support from a range of green businesses, community groups and academic organizations.

The Mud Run

The Mud Run is Canada's Dirtiest Trail Run, designed to challenge athletes' intensity and endurance. They have different variations of the race for different levels of athletes, the longest being 10 Km. The competitors choose which charity will benefit from their fundraising efforts. The best part of this race is that a wide range of charities benefit from it, rather than just one. Check out the great photo's on the website MudRun.ca

St. James Park Restoration

The grass on St. James Park will be better by far than what was there before Occupy Toronto camped out in November. The grass was well trampled by general use and by slack maintenance by city staff. However, with some donations from several organizations, things will be greener than ever in the park. St. James Park volunteer work continues. Amazing show of landscape industry support. Soils proudly donated by G&L Group's very own, Earthco Soils and Less Mess.
